Full Day: Yeats Country Tour

IFHE 2010: Itinerary Yeats Country Tour Saturday 17th July

Sat 17h July 09.00am Pick up from St Angela’s College
09.30am Visit Yeats Grave – Burial place of William Butler Yeats Viewing Benbulben, the characteristic landmark of County SLigo
10.30pm           Glencar Lake & Waterfall – 50ft high and is situated on Glencar Lough
11.45am The Organic Centre, Rossinver, providing public education, training and information about organic growing and sustainable living. The Centre is located on a 19 acre site in Rossinver, Co Leitrim, Ireland, and we have outreach centres in Co. Clare and Co. Wicklow.  Facilities include: Demonstration gardens & polytunnels; An orchard & soft fruit area with heritage varieties; A café using seasonal organic produce from our gardens; and an eco-shop selling garden tools, books, seasonal vegetables, etc. Tour takes 1hr.
13.00pm Lunch at The Organic Centre
15.00pm Lough Gill & Innisfree:  Cruise on Lough Gill taking in the Lake Isle of Innisfree which was immortalised by WB Yeats in his poetry, aboard the Rose of Innisfree. Disembark on the shores of Lough Gill.
16.30pm Parkes Castle for a guided tour of this semi-fortified 17th Century manor house. Tour takes 40 mins.
