Sligo Jazz 2010, which runs from July 20-25, is one of Ireland's most unique festivals. Many of the festival's performers are also spending the week in Sligo teaching masterclasses and instructing ensembles at the associated Sligo International jazz Summer School, which itself attracts a host of talent of all ages from all over Europe. Featured in the 2010 festival are UK guitar great Martin Taylor, US pianist Bill Carrothers, UK singer Anita Wardell, London rapper/saxophonist Soweto Kinch, N Ireland drum star David Lyttle, US Solo bassist Michael Manring, child guitar prodigy Andreas Varady, fresh from his scholarship visit to the prestigious US summer programme at Skidmore Jazz institute, and Irish guitar legend Louis Stewart amongst many others.
See www.sligojazz.ie for more festival information where you can also download the programme. All evening concerts are in the Model on Connaughton Road.
