It is with great pleasure IFHE Council 2010 Organising Committee invite you to IFHE Council 2010 in St. Angela’s College, Sligo, Ireland. IFHE Council was last held in Ireland in 1978. We are delighted to have the opportunity to host IFHE Council 2010 meetings and an International Conference.

The theme of the conference is “Vision 2020: Home Economics, Changing Perspectives in a Changing Environment” which will be focused in three areas of contemporary concern within Home Economics and Home Economics Education: Sustainability, Globalisation and Interculturalism. We aim to have high profile speakers in each of these three disciplines with specific reference to the core areas of Home Economics including Food, Nutrition, Diet & Health, Social Studies and Textiles, Fashion and Design.

This will be an opportunity for professionals to continue and build on their interactions, discussions and collaborations concerning Family, Consumer, Environmental and Educational issues which will lead to improvement in the quality of everyday life for individuals, families and households worldwide.

The IFHE Council 2010 Organising Committee, St. Angela’s College and IFHE Ireland look forward to welcoming you to Ireland and in particular to the shores of Lough Gill, Sligo, in July 2010 and are making every effort to have an exciting, dynamic and fruitful programme of events for all participants.
